Youth Sewing Program
Join our exciting Youth Sewing Program, designed for creative minds aged 8-14! Over the course of four weeks, participants will explore various designs. With engaging projects and hands-on activities, students will develop their skills, express their creativity, and gain confidence in their design abilities.

Your Student Will Learn:
By the end of the program, participants should be able to:
Basic Sewing Techniques:
Threading a sewing machine
Hand sewing basics (running stitch, backstitch, etc.)
Understanding Fabrics:
Identifying different types of fabrics
Learning about fabric care and selection
Pattern Reading:
How to read and understand sewing patterns
Creating simple patterns for projects
Sewing Machine Skills:
Operating a sewing machine safely and effectively
Troubleshooting common sewing machine issues
Project Creation:
Designing and sewing your own items (bags, clothing, accessories)
Applying techniques learned to complete projects
Program Timeline

Meet your professors
Carla Jones
Carla is a passionate multi-disciplinary creative with a sharp eye for the details that make great product design. They are a graduate of LaSalle College’s fashion design program, with a focus on technical development and design. Carla has since worked at Lululemon on their Product Innovation team, where they supported the development of a female-focused apparel line for ultra-marathon runners among other exciting projects. Carla now focuses on teaching, building their personal brand, and pursuing creative projects with private clients.
