Digital Pattern Making 2 Weeks Program

Master the digital side of pattern making and grading as you get familiar with Gerber AccuMark under the guidance of an industry professional. Enjoy hands-on instruction that covers pattern creation, digitizing, Marker making, grading and more.

Overview

Looking to learn the basics of the captivating world of fashion? The Cut offers you a variety of two-week intensive workshops designed to maximize your industry knowledge within a minimum time frame. In these hands-on workshops, students will be immersed in all facets of the fashion business. In readings, lectures and class discussions, students are taught by industry professionals in small group settings, receiving first-class learning in a real-life business environment, using state of the art digital platforms as well as hands-on hard skill applications. The class is 12 hours a week PLUS 6 hours of self directed lab time. Pre-requisites for each class are outlined in each specific course. Acquire the skills you need to reach your academic and professional goals or complement your current full-time diploma or degree program, or simply build a competitive portfolio for graduate program applications to prepare for advanced study.

Digital Pattern Making – Gerber

This two-week introductory course examines the digital aspect of pattern making and grading using Gerber AccuMark Pattern Design software (V13). Under the guidance of industry professionals, students will receive hands-on instruction covering pattern creation, drafting, digitizing, plotting, manipulations, grading, and marker making.

  • Digitize patterns
  • Learn basic techniques on Gerber
  • Create Patterns on Gerber
  • Learn how to manipulate blocks
  • Learn how to finalize patterns for plotting and printing

    • If you’re going to miss class for any reason, please email in advance to let us know. If you fail to report your absence within 24 hours, your class will be considered a missed session and no make up class will be provided

    VCAD Alumni, who has been working at The Cutting Room for two years, pattern making and sample sewing. Chay has been a favorite instructor to many of The Cut's students for the last two years and now enjoys teaching Gerber Digital Pattern Making at The Cut. Chay also was head seamstress at Scissors, a costume creation studio that specializes in creating out of this world garments for film.
