Admission Requirements
To enroll in the Makeup Artistry Certificate Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:- High school graduation or equivalent or mature student status (19+)
- Admissions interview (in person or via Skype) with the Dean or Director of Admissions
- A Letter of Intent A Letter of Intent detailing your career goals (minimum 250 words)
- English Proficiency at a B2 level (IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 57 internet-based, 63 computer-based, or FCE Exam), if English is not the first language or previous education was not in English
Makeup Kit
Students are required to have a makeup kit for the program. The Cut Academy offers a comprehensive kit, including a hair kit, available for purchase at $2,095. Administrative Fee:-

Heidi C
Heidi has been a makeup and hair artist in Vancouver since 2010, following her career as a flight attendant. She began her journey at a makeup counter and expanded into bridal, commercial, and editorial makeup. Over the years, Heidi has worked at hundreds of weddings, has been published over three dozen times, and is currently agency-represented. Her experience includes working with top brands, training with a French luxury brand, and serving as a studio makeup artist.
Keely Mahon
With a career that began in the early 2000s, Keely has honed her skills as a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist in Vancouver, BC. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, including television, film, fashion, bridal, photography, and corporate events. Keely’s work with actors, models, and brides has given her a versatile skill set, and her passion for continuous learning makes her a dedicated mentor to upcoming artists.
Jessica Lockert
Jessica has been active in the beauty industry since 2011 and began teaching in 2017. Her passion lies in helping clients feel confident and mentoring new artists. Jessica’s impressive portfolio includes work on fashion shows, film sets, and commercial shoots. She has collaborated with celebrity clients and provided makeup services for high-profile events like the LPGA Tour and Miss Vancouver Pageant. Published in over 100 magazines globally, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge to the makeup artistry training offered at The Cut Academy.
