AutoCAD Program
Overview
The AutoCAD Program is an intensive course designed to equip participants with essential skills for using AutoCAD effectively, totaling 36 hours of instruction. The curriculum begins with an introduction to the interface, setup, and basic drawing techniques, progressing through advanced commands such as polylines, trimming, and filleting. Participants will learn to create and manipulate shapes, utilize arrays, and incorporate text and dimensions into their designs. The program also covers layout setup and printing processes, including the use of CTB files for color-dependent plot styles. By the end of the course, students will have developed a solid foundation in AutoCAD, culminating in a final project that showcases their skills in line weights and overall drawing presentation.
Required: High school graduation or equivalent or mature student status (19+)
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, the student will learn
AutoCAD to create architectural/interior design plans properly scaled
Dimensioned artwork and printed following industry standards.
Completion Requirements*
The Cut Academy will use the following grade scale to determine each student & grade through their work. N/A for part-time programs.
Students must receive a complete or incomplete.

Practical assessments: Students will be evaluated on their participation in practical projects during the class
Demonstration: Students may be required to document their work through live demonstrations.

Nikki Renshaw
After a lifelong passion for art and design, Nikki decided to focus their energy on fashion. They are a graduate of Blanche MacDonald’s fashion design program, and their designs have been featured in Schön Magazine and Folklr Magazine. After graduation Nikki moved on to commission-based work and is now focusing on enhancing their personal brand, as well as teaching and styling.
Hector Alvarez
Hector, a seasoned Architect hailing from Mexico, boasts over 18 years of experience in designing and constructing his own projects. In 2012, he and his family relocated to Florida, USA, where he pursued managerial roles in Healthcare Facilities across various cities in the state. By 2015, Hector had moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to further his education in Interior Design, earning a Bachelor of Applied Design in Interior Design from LaSalle College Vancouver (LCV).
