    Jessica

Rodica’s journey in fashion began when she was a child. She would have dreams with fancy dresses and in the morning she would sketch them and create new designs. It was obvious she was meant to be a fashion designer. She enjoyed playing with dolls and to this day she still does. She was always asking for fabric scraps from an atelier in her hometown village in Moldova.

In her first year of taking sewing, pattern drafting and design classes, she made more than 100 garments from sketch to finishing and opened her own boutique. She continued to chase her dreams, moved to Vancouver and enrolled in a Fashion Design College. She was featured at Vancouver Fashion Week, was the public voting winner at a contest during Vancouver Eco Fashion Week, and made a dress for an actress for the Cannes Festival. Rodica was also featured in British Vogue, Vanity Fair and Brides magazines.

She worked for a few years as a Manager and Head Pattern Maker at the Cutting Room. Currently, Rodica is the founder and the creative director of the Goreea brand and she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience as a fashion instructor at The Cut Fashion Academy and Langara College.
