The Cut Forges Ahead with Online Learning
In response to the pandemic, learning environments are changing drastically, with many schools switching to online learning to accommodate students. For some, taking classes and working from home is a dream, and to others, it’s a little more difficult. Whatever your feelings, The Cut Fashion Design Academy is here to offer you some helpful tips to be more productive from home.
5 Tips to Being Productive During a Pandemic
Make a dedicated study and workspace. We don’t all have a home office, but even a designated spot at the kitchen table, or a chair and a small desk in your room will help you stay focused. It will train your brain to associate that place with learning and keep you from getting distracted.
Schedule your time. Allotting tasks into time slots can help make you feel more responsible for that task. For example, if you miss an appointment it feels like a big deal right? Well, scheduling your time to work on your courses will help hold you accountable for your work.
Take breaks. People associate breaks with slacking, but actually, studies show that taking frequent short breaks will increase your productivity. They help our brains process memories and the information we have taken in throughout the day. This in turn can help to reduce stress.
Turn off your phone or put it away. For some this can be easier said than done, but turning off your phone will eliminate one of most peoples main distractions.
Make a list. Nothing feels better than checking off a to do list. And if you don’t get through everything, not to worry, put those tasks to the top of your list for tomorrow.
Learning from home definitely has its perks, and gives students from around the world the option to learn from schools of their choosing. Just like a new job, or new course, learning from home has a learning curve. But with the right tips, what’s not to love!
